'Right from the Start: Play, relationships and learning' inaugural lecture of the Froebel Trust.

Mark Neale, Chair of the Froebel Trust, welcomed guests to the Inaugural Lecture of the Froebel Trust on 17th October, held at the Royal Institute of British Architects, London. Mark introduced Paul Ramchandani, LEGO® Professor of Play in Education, Development and Learning at Cambridge University, who was invited to deliver the lecture on the theme 'Right from the start: Play, relationships and Learning'. Paul Ramchandani talked about how he believes where we put our focus is important. ‘The more we can promote joy and sustaining close relationships the better children’s lives will be'.
The lecture was followed by a Q&A session with Paul Ramchandani, chaired by Mark Neale. The evening included the book launch of The Routledge International Handbook of Froebel and Early Childhood Practice. Professor Tina Bruce, one of the book's editors, explained the key role the Froebel Trust had played in the concept of the book, initially known as 'The Froebel Story'.
